The ODISSEI Social Data Science team at UU’s department of Methodology and Statistics is looking for a student assistant. See below the tasks and requirements for this position.

The Tasks

• Helping maintain our website (https://odissei-soda.nl) ;
• Improving our online presence (e.g., translating technical communication into social media-style posts);
• Helping to write tutorial style blogposts;
• Revise GitHub repositories of our projects and workshops for outdated information;
• Helping organise workshops we do;
• Depending on your coding experience and interest: you can also become involved in research development (e.g., technical contribution to various social data science projects, including some with substantial computational components). The Position

• Hours per week: a minimum of 6-8 hours per week, with the possibility to flexibly increase the number of hours per week (depending on your study stage and availability);
• Duration: a minimum of 1-year commitment, with the possibility for extension;
• Starting date: June 1 or as soon as possible.

The Requirements

• You are a good communicator (in English, Dutch is not required!) ;
• You are pro-active and organized;
• You can regularly join our weekly meetings on Mondays;
• You have affinity with social science;
• You either know a bit about the following topics, or you are ready to learn more about them: o GitHub o Markdown o Data science o Website development o Visual design
