After graduation: alumnus, benefactor, or gratie
Have you graduated, or are you about to graduate? If so, you don't have to say goodbye to Sticky. On this page, you can read about the different ways you can stay involved.
What changes when you graduate?
Once you finish your studies, you are no longer a member of Sticky. This means you can no longer sign up for activities.
You do automatically become a Sticky alumnus. You don't need to sign up for that. If you would also like to keep joining activities, you can do so as a benefactor or, if you were an active member, through gratie. Read below how this works.
Your Koala account: keep it or delete it?
If you have been studying for three years or longer, Koala will automatically send you an email asking for your study status. You can choose between studying, graduated, or stopped, and you can delete your account.
You can also manage this yourself at any time via koala.svsticky.nl/update-account-status. There you can update your study status and mailing lists, or delete your account.
Once you have finished your studies, set your status to graduated. Whether you keep your account after that depends on what you still want to use. Two things are linked to your account:
Your mailing lists, including the Alumni mailing list. This one is turned off by default, so tick it yourself in your mailing preferences if you want to stay up to date. Still looking for a job? Then the Bedrijfsmails (company mails) mailing list is also worth staying on, with vacancies and news from companies.
Mongoose, our supermarket in the Sticky room, where you buy snacks and drinks with your card.
Want to keep using either of these? Then keep your account. If you no longer need either, you are free to delete your account. Your data will then no longer be stored.
Alumni community
Sticky has an alumni community on WhatsApp. At your graduation ceremony, you will receive a letter inviting you to join.
Didn't receive the letter, or lost it? Talk to someone from the current board or send an email to secretaris@svsticky.nl, and we will add you.
Becoming a benefactor
Would you like to keep joining Sticky activities after your studies? Then you can become a benefactor (begunstiger).
Costs: a minimum of 10 euros per board year.
What you get: you can join activities and use facilities just like members can. The board may give members priority for activities.
General Members' Meeting (ALV): you are welcome to attend, but you have no voting rights.
Signing up: you can do this all year round, there is no deadline. Send an email to secretaris@svsticky.nl. The board decides on admission.
Payment: you transfer the contribution to Sticky's bank account. You will receive the instructions by email after signing up.
Duration: your benefactorship applies per board year. You can cancel at any time, but the contribution for the current board year remains due.
Gratie for former active members
Did you contribute to Sticky during your studies, for example in a committee or on a board? Then you are eligible for gratie. This is a recognition that only former active members can receive: you remain a member of Sticky, with the same rights as members, without having to become a benefactor.
You can request gratie from the board via secretaris@svsticky.nl.
Please note: gratie applies per board and lasts until the discharge of the current board. If you want to remain a member after that, you request gratie again from each new board.
