Are you an involved student and do you like to think about developments in the field of education and studying at Utrecht University? Then perhaps you would like to become a studentassessor of the board of directors.

The position

The board of directors (CvB) of Utrecht University is looking for a studentassessor for the academic year 2025-2026. As an advisory member of the board of directors, you will discuss university policy, with your focus mainly on education- and student-related matters. You advise the board of directors and highlight the student perspective in decision-making. You maintain a good relationship with students within the university and are well aware of what is going on among students. With that knowledge, you make an important contribution to decision-making at the university level.

You participate as an advisor in the weekly meeting of the Executive Board, the meetings with the University Council and other consultations relevant to the performance of the job. You are also involved in various projects. You will also consult with various policy staff. There is also room for your own ideas. You regularly consult with the rector magnificus who is responsible for education and students in the Executive Board. You maintain a good relationship with the student assistants of the faculties, the Utrecht student organizations and students from the councils.

  • You are interested in developments in the field of education and interested in current issues in higher education and at Utrecht University;
  • You know what is going on among students;
  • You can communicate well in Dutch and English and make contact easily;
  • You can grasp complex issues quickly and are curious about new developments;
  • You are able to work independently and organize your work well;
  • You show initiative and have integrity;
  • You are registered as a student at Utrecht University and you will not hold a board position in a student organization, union or medezeggenschap position in the university in the academic year 2025-2026;
  • Administrative or participation experience, within or outside the university is a plus.

What do we offer?

You will be appointed by the board of directors for the period of one year. The appointment period runs concurrently with the academic year, from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026. The scope of the position is up to 38 hours per week. The salary is in accordance with the salary of student assistants, for this you must be enrolled at Utrecht University.

Procedure

The studentassessor is appointed by the board of directors on the recommendation of a nomination advisory committee. The committee consists of the Rector Magnificus, Administrative Secretary CvB, a former Student Assessor CvB and two student members of the University Council. The procedure concludes with a click interview with the full Executive Board.
