Datamanager (0.8 -1.0 FTE)

Description You will advise colleagues and help them to make choices on a technological and procedural level. The position of Data Manager is new within our department, so it is up to you to further shape this position with a lot of creativity and your own input. In this you will work closely with the faculty data steward, the Research Support Office, the faculty Ethics Review Committee, and the departmental hardware and software managers.

What will you do? Consider the following activities: - You advise on, develop, and support processes and systems for data creation, management, and reuse (including for open science). - You create data management plans for common data types and support staff in writing and implementing data management plans. - You supervise and provide training on data management (storage, maintenance, risk management, documentation, access, search) for staff and students. - You develop and maintain a data versioning and access control system and processes for data management. - You ensure that all produced data is archived (with documentation and source code). - You contribute to policy making regarding Data Management, Information Security and Privacy in the department.

Qualifications You enjoy a challenge in the field of data management and are creative in finding suitable solutions. You like to discover new techniques and introduce them enthusiastically to your colleagues. Furthermore, we would like you to bring the following: - an academic working and thinking level;  - demonstrable knowledge of data processing in an academic environment, for example through a degree at master or PhD level;  - you like to delve into the regulations on data management, privacy and information security in the context of education and research and are always aware of the latest developments and the possible implications for our department; - excellent communication skills- in English, preferably also a good command of dutch;  - preferably experience with data storage services and system development.

Offer - a challenging, new position within a dynamic and rapidly growing department; - a position for a year with the prospect of permanent employment; - a full-time gross salary ranging from €2.960 to € 4.670 in scale 10; - 8% holiday bonus and 8.3% end-of-year bonus; - a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible employment conditions based on the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities.
