Project description module data, ethics and privacy.
In the Data, ethics and privacy project, an online module is being developed aimed at master's and bachelor's students at the Faculty of Geosciences. This online module prepares students for the ethical aspects of conducting research and for the safe collection, processing and reuse of research data.
The module will consist of
An introduction with various videos and explainer pages
Completing a questionnaire with a guided view to obtaining ethical approval for the study. This questionnaire contains both open questions and yes/no questions. The guidance consists of available help texts and videos
Guided construction of a data management plan, using checklists and input fields
The student's answers are collected in a database, and used to generate a report, which the student can download as a PDF.
The report is sent by email to pre-set email addresses.
A mock-up of the module is available. This project can be done by one student or split between two.
