Modernizing Web Applications (parttime)

Are you looking for a ‘serious’ parttime job that can easily be combined with your degree or thesis and which requires you to use your programming skills in a dynamic and agile environment?

For this assignment we are looking to recruit a Student Assistant for 16 up to 24 hours per week, who wants to take on the role of ‘lead developer’ regarding the modernizing of web applications and actively participates in rethinking their architecture.

The assignment – ‘Modernizing web applications’

Over the past years we have built a number of web applications. In the meantime, a lot has changes in the world of web development, which means that the applications no longer fit the desired architecture.

Currently, our applications are built on a server-side MVC framework and at the moment we prefer a service oriented setup. This means that both front-end and back-end need to be adjusted. The front-end will need to use the client-side framework Angular, whilst the back-end needs to be adapted to REST API’s. Moreover, the current and new technicalities need to be able to work together, in order to allow for a phased modernization.

This assignment allows you to work on both front-end and back-end. You will work closely together with consultants/stakeholders, a product owner, a designer and experiences developers.

You are currently working towards a Bachelor or Master degree in a technical field. You possess strong IT skills and are interested in finance.

You also possess:

  • excellent conceptual and innovative skills;
  • strong communication skills;
  • ambition and result-oriented;

You should also be available for a minimum of two days per week.
