You do this at the Tax and Customs Administration

You will work on a model that can recognize different speech acts in model letters. It's up to you to construct the best predictive model! The goal is to eventually add this model to a customer application that is currently being developed to support the improvement of model letters. Our application analyzes the letter and notes concrete points that increase the readability of letters. In this way we contribute to clear correspondence for every taxpayer.

The great thing about your internship? You are involved in all development phases. From processing, cleaning and preparing data to annotating texts and language features. And from developing, programming, training and selecting models to processing the results that your best model delivers.

Internship duration: in consultation (preferably 4 months or longer) for 32 to 40 hours per week.

A special job, because...

  • you work on challenging applications around natural language processing and machine learning
  • you have a lot of room for your own input. Together with you, we coordinate a structured (graduation) assignment in text analytics that matches your development and interests
  • you attend various meetings. Also the one with the customer!
  • you have access to a large network of Tax and Customs Administration colleagues
  • you receive a generous internship allowance and good guidance. We support you in your development

“My analytics project was not just an internship: I could really contribute to strengthening our services!” -Lois, data scientist.
